Albertina Dias is an Associate Professor with large experience both in academic management and scientific coordination. As a Research Broker and Intermediary at the Universidad de Huelva (Spain) she was facilitating dialogue and exchange among different internal and external parties in order to create opportunities for programmatic interventions to connect research, policy and practice, and to raise external financial resources. Her professional life has been enriched by several different activities beyond the academic life, like working as an External Consultant (since 2005) or as an Independent Expert for the European Commission (since 2008). Albertina Dias is also a Reviewer-Evaluator Expert for the European Commission under specific programs in the domain of Economics and ICT (4-6 times per year) and she has been appointed as an Innovation Expert by the EU (Research Executive Agency) since 2014. In 2015, she was one of the 2 experts assisting the KPI Review for the European Commission acting as an Independent External Expert at the European Institute of Innovation and Technologies – EIT (Budapest, 2015-2016). She is one of the 50 experts selected for the Circular Economy Business Models - CIRC4LIFE (Brussels, 2021), and she is one of the 16 Evaluators of the EU Horizon2020 Program: DT-ICT-02-2018 Robotics & Artificial Intelligence - Digital Innovation Hubs (2018-2020). In the past, she has held several positions of responsibility in companies such as being CEO at Paulo Branco Holding (Film Industries), Oracle Portugal (Internal Auditor, Financial Analysis and Business Management Control), Allianz Portugal (Financial Analyst), and Cap Gemini Portugal (Project Manager). With more than 20 years of experience, she has been the founder and CEO of the audiovisual and multimedia company Solutions by Heart, Ltd. (SbH) for more than 10 years, and was the co-founder and chairman of Modeling Innovation Sustainability and Technologies (MIST). SbH was a spin-out company resulting from her Ph.D. research activities on Digital Business Models and Augmented Reality Technologies. MIST (www.mist.pt) was a non-profit association structured to enable the production of high-level research activities, working closely with the local and regional authorities, academia and business entities. It aims to gather valuable information, knowledge and wisdom for organizations and individuals. MIST is focused not only on Knowledge Triangle Integration (KTI) but also on concretely addressing the challenges of unemployment and future work in the context of automation, poverty reduction, water and climate change, urban waste management or transports, by developing innovative solutions, in order to respond to these global questions, and to design new business models that address social, economic and environmental issues. Her academic background includes three principal scientific degrees: - Ph.D. in Economics and Business (Huelva University-Spain recognized by NOVA SBE – Nova School of Business and Economics, Lisbon-Portugal); - Master in Statistics and Information Management (NOVA IMS - Nova Information Management School, Lisbon-Portugal); - Degree in Economics (NOVA SBE – Nova School of Business and Economics, Lisbon-Portugal).
