I have a BSc in Microbiology (2016) and MSc in Applied Microbiology (2018) at Faculty of Biotechnology of Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Currently working as a Lab assistant/ PhD student at Alchemy Project - developing in vitro models to test bioactive properties from sugar cane functional by-products. Between 2017 and 2018, for my master’s thesis, I was part of an ERASMUS program in the University of Reading (United Kingdom) in the Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences to study the in vitro impact of insect flours on the human gut microbiota. I have experience in the field of prebiotics and probiotics, food microbiology and gut microbiota. I am interested in the topic of the gut microbiota and its metabolism, as well as the impact of food/ feed in human and animal's well-being and health.
