LÍVIA GEBARA MURARO SERRATE CORDEIRO completed her Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences in 2011 in Brazil, focusing on the characterization of sedimentary organic matter of the SW Atlantic margin through lipid biomarkers. She obtained her M.Sc. degree in Analytical Chemistry in 2006 and her B.Sc. degree in Oceanography in 2001, both in Brazil, with emphasis on contamination of aquatic ecosystems. She has a 3-year postdoctoral experience funded by CAPES / CNPq to work at the Laboratory of Marine and Environmental Studies (LabMAM) / PUC-Rio (Brazil, 2016), at the University of Aveiro (Portugal, 2015) and at LOCEAN / Université Pierre Marie Curie (France, 2013) on paleoceanography and organic biogeochemistry research lines. In addition, she has 5 years of experience as an Assistant Researcher in funded projects at Brazilian universities (UFF, UERJ, and PUC-Rio) on marine biogeochemistry, and at a national research center (CETEM) in the field of reference material production. She is currently a Researcher at the Portuguese Institute for the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) in the Paleoceanography and Paleoclimate Group / Marine Geology and Georesources Department, and Associate Researcher at the Oceanography and Climate Change Research Group (OC2) of the Center for Marine Sciences (CCMAR). She has published 13 articles in indexed international journals, 3 book chapters for science promotion, 30 papers in meetings and conferences, and 20 technical reports in the research areas of chemical oceanography, marine biogeochemistry, and paleoceanography. She has served on many scientific evaluation committees for undergraduate, master's and doctoral projects. She has contributed to the private sector as a Senior Environmental Analyst and Senior Environmental Consultant.
