Ivo Silva is a Senior Researcher at the ALGORITMI Research Center and an Invited Professor (Prof. Convidado Equiparado a Prof. Auxiliar) at the Department of Information Systems (DSI) of the University of Minho. He received the M.Sc. degree in Telecommunications and Informatics Engineering in 2016 (University of Minho), followed by the Ph.D. degree in the MAP-tele Doctoral Program in Telecommunications from the Universities of Minho, Aveiro, and Porto in 2022. Ivo Silva has co-authored dozens of scientific publications and collaborated in R&D projects in partnership between academia and industry. Currently, Ivo Silva integrates the research team on the neXt Sense project, particularly in the SP3 package where he is working on the development of a cooperative positioning system for autonomous vehicles. He serves as a member of the Technical Program Committee of the International Conference on Indoor Positioning and Indoor Navigation. Additionally, he contributes as a peer reviewer for several prestigious journals, including IEEE Sensors, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, and Elsevier's Expert Systems with Applications, among others. His research interests include positioning and navigation, mobile and urban computing, machine learning, sensor fusion, vehicle localization, autonomous driving, Industry 4.0, Internet of Things, and simulation of wireless networks.
