Inês M.S. Guerra holds a Bachelor Degree in Biochemistry (2018) and Master in Biochemistry with a minor in Clinical Biochemistry (2021) by University of Aveiro, Portugal. During her Master thesis, Inês M. S. Guerra studied the variations in the plasma fatty acid and phospholipid profiles of phenylketonuric children using a LC-MS approach. In 2025, she received her PhD degree in Biochemistry, grant funded by FCT (2021.04754.BD), at Lipidomic Laboratory, Mass Spectrometry Centre of University of Aveiro (http://lipidomics.web.ua.pt/). Her current research has been concerned with applications of mass spectrometry-based lipidomics approaches (GC-MS and LC-MS) for the study of the alterations in the lipidome associated to fatty acid ß-oxidation disorders, an inborn error of metabolism. She is author/co-author of 20 articles and 20 poster communications, 10 oral communication and received 7 awards and/or honours. During her scientific journey, she has been conducted research work in the field of structural characterization of lipids, from different matrices (human cells and biofluids), using omics (lipidomics) approaches.
