Dániel Rivas Blanco is a doctoral candidate in the last year of his PhD. He did his Bachelor's degree in the University of Santiago de Compostela from 2009 to 2013 and his Master's degree in the University of Córdoba from 2013 to 2014. Later on, he worked as a research assistant in several academic institutions, starting with the Max Planck Institute for Ornithology from 2015 to 2016, and later on from 2017 to 2018; performing experiments on New Caledonian crows and contributing to the data analysis of a experiment done with parrots. Concurrently to that, he also did data analysis at the Institute for Advanced Study in Toulouse for an experiment done in several species of corvids in late 2017. Finally, he worked analyzing data on hyerarchical scores and doing behavioral observations of dogs and wolves at the Domestication Lab, at the Konrad Lorenz Institute for Evolution and Cognition Research, at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna from 2018 to 2020. It was in this last location that he started his PhD: "Cognitive processes underlying problem solving abilities in dogs and wolves", focused on the physical cognition abilities of wolves and dogs. Currently, he's working at the Adaptive Behaviour Lab, at the William James Center for Research, at the University of Aveiro starting an experiment with starlings and dogs.
