Holds a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Medicinal Chemistry from the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra (2016 and 2019, respectively). Currently pursuing a PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Coimbra, in collaboration with the University of Manchester (UK), focusing on extrusion-based 3D printing of biomaterials for tissue engineering applications. Possesses a strong background in chemistry, with expertise in organic synthesis of thermoplastics (mainly poly(ester amides)), chemical modifications of natural polymers (e.g., methacrylation), and a broad range of physicochemical characterization techniques, including NMR, FTIR, SEC, SEM, DMTA and DSC, as well as mechanical and rheological analysis. Experienced in 3D printing of thermoplastics such as PCL and PEAs, and of bioinks (hydrogel-based) such as gelatin, hyaluronic acid, and silk fibroin, chemically modified for enhanced performance. Additionally, has extensive experience in in vitro assays using human stem cells (MSCs), including biocompatibility, morphology, and differentiation studies confirmed by qRT-PCR, histology, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence.
