Fátima Brandão is currently pursuing her PhD at ICBAS, University of Porto, while also contributing as a researcher in the EPIBOOST project at the University of Aveiro. She holds a bachelor's degree in biology and a master's in applied biology with a focus on Toxicology and Ecotoxicology. Throughout her undergraduate and master's studies, Fátima specialized in studying the effects of drugs on oxidative stress and behavioral biomarkers in aquatic organisms. As a research fellow at the National Institute of Health Dr. Ricardo Jorge, she expanded her expertise in occupational health, genotoxicity, and nanotoxicology. Participation in the NEUTOXMER project further enhanced her skills in aquatic toxicology and interpreting metabolomics data. In her Ph.D., Fátima focuses on assessing the inhalation toxicity of nanomaterials, contributing to their hazard and risk assessment. Over the past years as a Laboratory Research Technician in the Screen&Toxin project, where she has not only reinforced her expertise in aquatic toxicology but also gained additional proficiency in the field of metabolomics. Furthermore, she has delved into research on greener alternatives to traditional sunscreens. In her role, Fátima successfully managed project expenses, underscoring her project management capabilities. Throughout all these stages, Fátima has also had the opportunity to develop the ability to collaborate seamlessly, communicate effectively, pay meticulous attention to detail, and adeptly solve problems.
