Diana Cunha holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, with a specialization in Analytical Chemistry, from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Porto (FFUP). Throughout her academic and research career, she have developed strong expertise in innovative analytical strategies for the evaluation of biopharmaceuticals, with a focus on label-free electrochemical and optical biosensing platforms, miniaturized and automated systems, and green extraction methodologies using deep eutectic solvents and 3D printing technologies. She also holds a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from FFUP, where she began her research experience in the Department of Microbiology, focusing on natural compounds with antifungal activity. As part of the Erasmus+ program, she completed an internship in hospital pharmacies in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, gaining hands-on experience in clinical and pharmaceutical settings across three different hospitals, particularly in the preparation of chemotherapy treatments and the manipulation of biopharmaceutical formulations. She also gained professional experience in a community pharmacy setting, where she was involved in the preparation of individualized medication for patients. Since 2020, she have been a researcher at LAQV–REQUIMTE. In 2024, she completed a research stay at Iowa State University (USA) in the laboratory of Doctor Jared L. Anderson, where she advanced her work in sample preparation techniques applied to biopharmaceutical analysis. To date, I have published 6 peer-reviewed articles in international journals and organized 1 scientific event. Beyond the lab bench, she is actively involved in science communication and outreach. She has served as editor for the science and health section of Jornal Universitário do Porto, am a board member of the Young Chemists Group (GQJ) of the Portuguese Chemical Society (SPQ), and currently serve as a delegate on the Outreach Committee of the International Younger Chemists Network (IYCN).
