Luís Francisco Silva Medeiros Teves

Luís Francisco Silva Medeiros Teves holds a Master's Degree in Biomedicine from the University of Barcelona - Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, with specialization in Basic and Translational Research in Cancer. Completed the degree in Biological and Health Sciences from the University of the Azores, being awarded with a diploma of merit for academic performance in 2017. He is particularly interested in the area of Human Genetics, namely in the field of neurodegenerative disorders. He is part of a research group that has strongly contributed to the increase of knowledge in various aspects of Machado-Joseph disease(MJD)/Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3), such as the identification of genetic modifiers and biomarkers.
