My research focuses on the semantics of "perspectival" expressions - predicates of taste, aesthetic adjectives, moral terms etc. I'm involved in the contemporary debate between the various semantics views about these expressions. I'm also interested in the semantics of knowledge ascriptions, epistemic modals and tense. Theories of speaker meaning and methodological issues such as the status of certain arguments (e.g., "the argument from binding", "the argument from disagreement" etc.) in current semantic debates are among my interests too, as well as lexical theories and various approaches to concepts. Recently, I became interested in the semantics of slurs and gender terms, hate speech, propaganda, ameliorative projects in philosophy and the politics of language. During both my doctoral studies and postdoctoral fellowships, I have published a total of 48 works (already in print and forthcoming): 2 edited volumes (1 forthcoming), 23 articles in peer-reviewed journals (3 forthcoming), 10 papers in edited volumes (1 forthcoming), 5 articles in conference proceedings, 3 book reviews (1 forthcoming) and 5 edited special issues of journals. I have given a significant number of talks in international workshops and conferences, as well as in internal and project seminars (a total of 137 talks, 34 of them invited and 78 peer-refereed). I have vast experience in organizing scientific events (co-organizing 21 international workshops and conferences, and 3 symposia). I have acted as referee for 37 different journals (refereeing a total of 62 papers), 8 conferences and 3 publishing houses, and have been in the scientific committee of 13 international events. I have been or will be in the dissertation committee of 8 Ph.D. theses and have been an evaluator for 4 funding agencies. I received various research grants (21 in total, 4 declined) and 2 prizes (including a "Seal of Excellence" from the European Commission). I have been a member of 15 research projects (5 individual ones for which I was the PI and 1 collaborative for which I was the coordinator). I was or am a member of 13 professional organizations. My metrics are as follows: 183 citations, h-index: 8 (source: Google Scholar), with 8 works in Q1 and 9 in Q2 (source: Scimago Journal and Country Rank, 2021). Some of my contributions to the scholarship are the following: in the debate about perspectival expressions, I defend an original relativist view (based on the idea of multiple indexing) that is motivated by the phenomenon of perspectival plurality, which I have contributed to disseminating and to showing its importance in the filed. Also in relation to this debate and in connection to the topic of disagreement, I put forward a notion of "minimal disagreement" that has advantages over similar notions in the literature and which makes the debate intelligible. In relation to temporal indexicals (particularly in relation to the "answering machine paradox") I hold an original view based on Reichenbach's tri-temporal framework. In relation to gender terms, I have put forward an ameliorative invariantist view according to which the main element that drives truth-evaluation of utterances is self-identification as having a certain gender. Finally, in relation to slurs, I have both brought to light new data such as a sui-generis, independent type of non-derogatory use ("identificatory, based on research on the Romanian slur "tigan") and I have put forward a lexical semantic analysis of slurs, connecting for the first time explicitly the literature in the philosophy of language with that in lexical semantics.
