Ricardo Pereira Pinto earned his PhD in Innovation in Food Safety and Technologies from the University of Santiago de Compostela in 2024. Prior to this, he completed a Master's Degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Food Industry at the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo (IPVC) in 2015, following his Bachelor's Degree in Food Engineering from the same institution in 2008. His professional journey commenced in 2008 as a consultant, trainer, and production manager in the food industry, Transitioning into academia, he worked as an undergraduate researcher at IPVC in 2017 to 2023, actively contributing to four three projects. Additionally, he holds a role as a Collaborating Member at the Center for Research and Development in Agro-Food Systems and Sustainability (CISAS) since 2020. Over the past four years, Ricardo has served as an Invited Teaching Assistant (part-time) in both the Food Engineering Degree program and the Food Quality and Safety Professional Higher Technical Course at IPVC's School of Technology and Management. His expertise lies in Engineering and Food Technology, specialising in areas such as meat quality, meat processing, sensory analysis, food chemistry, and chemometrics.
