I am a doctorate researcher in the visual-material history of arts education at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Porto. There, I am currently associated with the Institute for Investigation in Art, Design and Society (i2ADS). My research is funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (REF: 2022.12937.BD). I hold a Master's degree in Cinema Studies from Stockholm University, Sweden, and a Bachelor degree in Cultural Studies (Major) and Arts-Media-Aesthetic Education (Minor) from the University of Bremen, Germany. In my research I endeavour to integrate visual historical research, pedagogy with performative and visual-material artistic research practices. I am inquiring the relations of images and imaginaries, asking how particular images and aesthetics shape and are shaped by our imaginaries; by our relations with the more-than-human world; by our relations with histories. From April until December 2022, I was a PhD student fellow in the research project CREAT_ED The Historicization of the Creative Child in Education at i2ADS - Research Institute of Art, Design and Society at the University of Porto. My professional experiences outside academia are varied: I worked in documentary production at LAIKA Film & Television Sweden (2018-2019) and as an assistant theatre educator at Theater Bremen's Junge Akteur*innen (2013-2014). I did a voluntary cultural year at Theater Bremen (2012-2013) and have experience in political education and social work (2015-2017), language teaching (2020-2021) and as a careworker/assistant (2019-2020).
