Jane Dias holds a PhD in Experimental Biology and Biomedicine (PDBEB) from the University of Coimbra, completed in 2024. She obtained her BSc (2016) and MSc (2018) in Biomedical Sciences from Universidade da Beira Interior. During her PhD, she carried out her research at the RNA & Infection Laboratory at the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (CNC/CIBB), University of Coimbra. Her work focused on Salmonella-host interactions, specifically the functional characterization of microRNAs involved in the regulation of Salmonella Typhimurium infection. This research resulted in one peer-reviewed publication as co-first author and a manuscript as first author. Currently, Jane is a postdoctoral researcher at the Gulbenkian Institute of Molecular Medicine (GIMM), where she is part of a research group investigating the biology of parasitism. Her work continues to center on host-pathogen interactions, further expanding her expertise in infection biology. In addition to her research activities, Jane is an active member of the scientific community. She has organized scientific events, contributed to science-based entrepreneurial initiatives by developing and presenting innovative business ideas, and participated in research training programs. Her areas of expertise include Microbiology, ncRNAs, Host-pathogen interactions, and High-content screening assays.
