2021/09/24 - 2021/09/24 Edward Lorenz, the father of Chaos Theory, showed how small variations can lead to big changes in what became known as the "butterfly effect". This activity is a BYOD activity in which participants are able to view, using their mobile phone cameras, an exhibition with poster/screen images in the format of Rubik's cube pixel mosaics and with information about the "butterfly effect" and the impact of maths on meteorology. In this activity we propose the collective construction of a mosaic in Rubik's cube pixels of a portrait by Edward Lorenz. Each participant will be invited to reproduce a piece of the pixelated image on one of the faces of a Rubik's cube with the aim of collectively forming the complete image at the end of the day.
