Pedro Rodrigues is a Biomedical Engineer dedicated to developing innovative medical solutions that promote the quality of life for individuals in need of physical rehabilitation. He holds an MSc in Biomedical Engineering from FCT NOVA and is currently pursuing a PhD in Informatics. His expertise in biomedical engineering, combined with a strong foundation in data science and artificial intelligence, allows him to contribute meaningfully to the digital transformation of rehabilitation technologies. During his MSc thesis, Pedro investigated player emotions in VR games using physiological data and performance metrics, successfully implementing a machine learning pipeline for difficulty classification to improve personalized treatment approaches. This experience provided him with hands-on expertise in designing and implementing ML-based project pipelines. Building on this background, Pedro expanded his analytical skills as a data analyst at the Bank of Portugal, where he worked on strategies and pipelines for data quality monitoring and analysis, refining his ability to work with large datasets and ensuring data integrity. Pedro has actively engaged in multiple research projects, including noise quantification and reduction in collaboration with the HEI-Lab, as well as the development of gamified approaches for exploring physiological signals. His areas of interest include Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, Exergames, Physiological Data Analysis, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), and Physical Rehabilitation. Through his education, research, and professional experiences, Pedro has demonstrated both the technical expertise and the interdisciplinary mindset needed to drive advancements in healthcare technology. He remains committed to making a lasting impact in rehabilitation and beyond.
