I'm developing my PhD project in Biology and Ecology of Global Change, using Acacias as a model genus to understand the adaptation of the different species to new ecosystems. I'm particularly interested in plant-microbe interactions and the overall integration of above- and belowground environments. Also, understanding how Acacia spp. interact with the ecosystem (including other living organisms) could be crucial to integrate new knowledge on management actions. Furthermore, I'm committed to deepen my knowledge on soil ecology, considering biogeochemical cycles along with microbial activity, and I'm being deeply involved in studies that included high troughput techniques such as Next-Generation Sequencing. I have done my master degree in Applied Microbiology in the University of Lisbon in 2020. During the last years I've been a grantholder researcher within the projects WineClimAdapt - Select and characterize wine varieties best-adapted to climage change cenario and R3forest - Using exotic biomass for post-fire restoration: reuse, regenerate and reforest in CE3C (Center for Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Changes). I'm also naturally enthusiastic with science communication and mentoring, so I'm envolved in several projects and activities that aim to share science and investigation/research with society, including young people.
