Carolina Silva-Pereira (CSP) completed the Integrated Master's in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Faculty of Pharmacy of University of Porto (FFUP), and is currently finalizing her Ph.D. in Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology from the Faculty of Medicine of University of Porto (FMUP). Her research focuses on inflammation resolution pathways in hospitalized COVID-19 patients, while also contributing to various research projects over the years. Since 2019, she has primarily worked in clinical research, investigating biomarkers of inflammation, resolution of inflammation, endothelial dysfunction and oxidative stress in patients with acute heart failure, cardiogenic shock, septic shock and COVID-19. This work has led to four original research articles and one review. CSP has actively participated in national and international conferences, presenting her findings through oral communications and posters. She is a student member of the Portuguese Society of Pharmacology, and she recently became an Invited Assistant of Pharmacology at FMUP.
