Jacinto Benhadi Marín completed the Ph.D. in Biosciences in 2019 at the University of Coimbra (Portugal) with “honor and distinction” and Ph.D. award in Ecology, the advanced studies course in Biosciences in 2015 at the University of Coimbra (Portugal), and the Degree in Biology in 2012 at the University of León (Spain). Currently, he is a postdoc researcher at the Mountain Research Centre (Portugal), an excellence unit by FCT. He published 21 articles in specialized JCR journals, 7 articles in specialized journals with peer review, 6 articles in conference proceedings, 1 book chapter, and 2 dissemination articles. Co-authored 15 oral presentations at congresses. Co-authored 30 posters at congresses. Developed 3 software tools. Organized 3 scientific meetings. Co-supervised 1 MSc, and 1 BSc dissertation, 1 Erasmus internship, and 1 summer stay programme. He was part of the jury of 2 MSc dissertations, 1 master qualification exam, 1 undergraduate research scholarship, and 1 international project proposal. He performed 37 reviews of 31 manuscripts for 18 scientific journals and moderated 3 congress sessions. Participates and/or participated in 3 international research projects, 5 national research projects, and 2 strategic projects of research centers. He works in the area of natural sciences with emphasis on applied biological sciences and agrarian sciences developing work in the fields of functional ecology and distribution of arthropods in the Iberian Peninsula, the study of spider communities associated with agroecosystems and their potential as agents of natural limitation of pests associated with crops, identification of arthropod species with potential as bioindicators and natural enemies in agroecosystems, ethology of agrobiont spiders, creation and maintenance of spider populations in the laboratory, functional responses, the effect of non-prey foods on arthropods, spatial ecology, statistics, model development, simulation, and data analysis.
