Pedro Conceição holds a Master in Science degree in Engineering in Micro and Nanotechnology from University Nova of Lisbon - Faculty of Sciences and Technology (UNL-FCT), obtained in December 2019 During his Master in Science degree different fields of knowledge were studied as materials, chemistry, biology, physics and electronics. The research path of Pedro Conceição started at CENIMAT (Center of Material Research, I3N) laboratory during his degree, in a research project with the aim to develop cellulose based electrolytes for application in electrochemical devices and transistors. In this period, Pedro acquired laboratory experience in optimization of dyes for screen printed technique, electrochemical sensing, thermogravimetric analysis, transistors characterization and spectroscopic techniques. Master in Science dissertation entitled -Low cost rapid prototyping of a microfluidic bioreactor for electrochemical sensing of 3D cancer cells cultures was accomplished in the Medical Devices group at INL (International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory- BRAGA). He was inserted in a project that aimed to improve in vitro clinical trials. In his final MSc dissertation Pedro developed a reactor from the design in 2D to 3D, in SolidWorks. Pedro gained experience in cell cultures, immunofluorescence techniques and electrochemical sensing. The manufacture process was made in an automated micro milling machine together with laboratorial work. This work led to three poster presentations in three international congresses (i.e. Mission 10.000 Conference 2018, NanomedEurope 2019, 3rd Annual Meeting CINBIO, Vigo) and led Pedro to be invited to conduct a research project as research volunteer, at INL through a N2020 funded project (FRONTHERA). Also, it led to his first paper as 1st author published in CANCERS with very good impact factor ( IF, 6.1) Since February 2020 Pedro Conceição holds a position as Research Assistant grantee at CESAM and CICECO in University of Aveiro. In this period, he gain experience in the synthesis of nanoparticles and Organic-inorganic hybrids and their photophysical characterization (Absorption, emission properties) and structural/morphological characterization (FTIR, TEM SEM,XRD). From this work two poster communication were/will be presented at an international conference (ICPP-11, USA) and a national Meeting (Physical-Chemistry national meeting). Moreover, a manuscript intitled - Quantum dots Phthalocyanines Conjugates Via non-covalent approach - a mini-review is under final preparation to be submitted. In Pedro free time, he finished an online course of ''Python basics for data Science'' with certificate from IBM.
