Maria Salomé Gomes is an Associate Professor of Microbiology at U.Porto, Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar (ICBAS) and a Group Leader at Instituto para a Investigação e Inovação em Saúde (i3S). She finished the supervision or co-supervision of 7 PhD students, 7 research fellows and several MSc and undergraduate students. She was the PI in 4 FCT-funded projects and member of the team in more than 15 others. Published over 50 research articles (H index 27) in the fields of host-pathogen interaction and antimicrobial agents. Regularly serves as peer-reviewer in international circulation scientific journals. She is Associate Editor of Frontiers in Drug Development and guest Editor of Microorganisms. Maria Salomé Gomes currently supervises 4 PhD students, was part of over 50 PhD juries and served in several evaluation panels for grants and contracts. She is a member of the Scientific Committee for the PhD course on Biomedical Sciences and President of the Pedagogical Council at ICBAS.
