PhD student in the Doctoral Program in Experimental Biology and Biomedicine at the University of Coimbra, specializing in Cell, Molecular and Developmental Biology. Currently a doctoral fellow in the European Commission-funded project “CHANgeing – Connected Hubs in Ageing: Healthy Living to Protect Cerebrovascular Function”, focusing on the molecular and cellular mechanisms of ageing, oxidative stress, and mitochondrial physiology. Holds a Master’s degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Coimbra and a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra. Has international research experience through an Erasmus+ internship at the University of Oviedo (Spain), working on redox biology, autophagy, and cellular senescence. She has co-authored publications in Cell Death & Disease (2024) and Oxidative Medicine and Cellular Longevity (2020). Her scientific interests lie in the study of mitochondrial dynamics, redox regulation, and the molecular basis of ageing, with the aim of identifying new therapeutic targets to promote healthy ageing and prevent age-associated diseases. She also frequently participates in outreach activities dedicated to science communication, contributing to public understanding of biomedical research and fostering dialogue between science and society.
