Based on a ‘think globally, act locally’ approach, the current project aims to promote interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary dialogue between Portugal and Brazil, enabling science and natural history museums to share experiences and perspectives, as well as to disseminate best practices in scientific literacy. Professional and Academic Profile A specialist in pedagogy, educational theory and practice, as well as a social and environmental educator, she holds a master’s degree in Humanities and Pedagogical Sciences from the University of Padua (Italy), with a final mark of 109/110; her dissertation addressed Environmental Education and the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development. Previously, she completed a bachelor’s degree in Educational Sciences, with distinction, with a dissertation on Science Education in Science Museums, which included a 250-hour placement at the Esapolis Museum (Insects Museum) in Padua. Further Training in Innovative Methodologies In 2023–2024, she obtained certification as a Forest School Assistant (Level 2) at Archimedes Forest School in Chalfont, UK. The pedagogical methodology of Archimedes Forest School occupies a prominent place in the field of transformative learning. Experience in Social and Environmental Education As a senior education officer, she specialised in parenting education and social support for vulnerable families, including refugees, ethnic minorities and victims of violence. She also has experience in the inclusion of children and young people in Children’s and Youth Homes (LIJ), as well as in providing academic support to foster the independence of students with special educational needs. Her work also extends to teacher training in environmental education, the evaluation of educational and training quality, and vocational training and apprenticeships. Involvement in Environmental Education Networks and Projects In Italy, she studied the National Network for Information, Training and Environmental Education (Sistema Nazionale – INFEA) and took part in the WEEC-Italy Network’s Environmental Education Manifesto in Bergamo (2014), at the invitation of her supervisor, Professor Orietta Zanato (UNIPD). Active participation in international forums on environmental education and scientific literacy, such as the presentation of the SIQREA project (2015) at the 3rd International Congress on Environmental Education (ASPEA, Aveiro), which focused on quality assessment in environmental education networks, and the publication of an coauthored article on the subject in an international scientific journal. Recently, she contributed to the 20th International Technology, Education and Development Conference (INTED2026, Valencia) with an coauthored article on Science and Natural History Museums for Critical Scientific Literacy and Social Transformation.
