Sandia Machado completed her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences with specialization in Analytical Chemistry from University of Porto in 2023, master degree in Quality Control from the University of Porto in 2015, and a degree in Clinical and Clinical and Public Health Analyses from Polytechnic of Porto in 2013. During her formation she worked in a research group of Chemometrics and Process Analytical Technology from Prof. João P. M. A. Lopes, where she acquires knowledge about analytical methods, based on spectrophotometry and infrared spectroscopy techniques, chemometrics and data analysis. In 2016 she obtained a research grant under the Videira Project that gave her opportunity to work in the research group of Separation Science and High-throughput Screening from Prof. Marcela A. Segundo and to participate in several works concerning the development and validation of analytical methodologies based on liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry. The Videira Project whose theme aimed at modeling the vinegrape metabolism in response to environmental constraints encompassing soils (micro)climate information and high-throughput spectral analysis generated from berries and leaves, was the subject of her PhD thesis. In general, her formation provided her expertise mainly in laboratory practice and research activities, through the writing of scientific reports, and organization of events (seminars, national and international conferences), as well as support for master classes as a monitor.
