Paulo David Nunes Barradas is a Chemistry graduate from FCTUC, who achieved a final grade of 18 out of 20 in his Bachelor's degree. Currently, he is pursuing his Master's degree in Advanced and Industrial Chemistry - Experimental and Theoretical Physical-Chemistry, also at FCTUC. In 2019, he gained his first research experience at the Chemical Center of Coimbra (CQC) as a Scientific Initiation Fellow. Following that, he interned at the photochemistry group of CQC in 2020, where he learned various spectroscopic techniques and computational quantum chemical calculations for studying the photochemical and photophysical behavior of CO-releasing molecules under light (PhotoCORMs). His Bachelor's thesis focused on this topic, for which he received a grade of 19 points. He became a research fellow in the SASCOT project and co-authored a scientific article in the journal Frontiers in Chemistry. In 2022, he started working on his Master's thesis, where he synthesized and functionale different polymers in the organic chemistry group of CQC and interned at the University of Wuppertal in Germany, where he learned to synthesize new ladder-type dizapentacenium polymers. His Master's thesis focuses on the photochemical and photophysical study of the polymers he synthesized, and he expects at least two independent publications. He has gained experience in various spectroscopic techniques, ultrafast techniques, quantum chemical computational packages, and programming languages such as Python and Matlab for solving kinetic schemes with 6-12 rate constants.
