Susana Araújo is Assistant Professor of Anglo-American Studies Section of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Coimbra and an integrated researcher at CEComp, Centre for Comparative Studies, University of Lisbon. She completed her PhD at the University of Sussex in 2004, she was granted an MA with Distinction from the University of Warwick in 1999 and a First Degree with Honours from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Lisbon in 1997. Apart from doctoral and postdoctoral grants, she was also awarded three highly competitive research contracts from FCT: in 2018 she was awarded CEEC Research contract as Investigadora Principal for the period 2019-2026; she had been previously awarded the Investigador FCT contract also as investigadora Principal (2014-2018) and a Ciência Contract (2008- 2013). Susana Araújo was Vice-Director of the Centre of Comparative Studies (CEC, FLUL) between 2013 and 2016. She taught at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FLUL) from 2009 to 2018, and is the Project leader of CILM – City and (In)security in Literature and the Media – an R&D project which received funding from FCT. She was also the coordinator of the research group LOCUS at CEC from 2009 to 2019 (a research group which embraced five research projects), before she moved to the University of Coimbra.
