Alex Vañó Viñuales

Alex Vañó Viñuales in an expert on General Relativity, its numerical implementations and Gravitational Wave signals, working at the interface between mathematical relativity and numerical relativity. He studied his Degree in Physics at the University of the Balearic Islands, Spain, spending one year at the Friedrich-Schiller University of Jena, Germany, as an Erasmus exchange student. Continued on to a master and PhD at the University of the Balearic Islands, which he defended in September 2015. He is currently an Auxiliary Researcher in Associação do Instituto Superior Técnico para a Investigação e Desenvolvimento as well as an Invited Professor there. Published 16 articles in journals. Co-supervised 2 PhD thesis(es). Supervised 2 MSc dissertation(s) and co-supervised 2. Has received 3 awards and/or honors.
