Rolando Carlos Pereira Simões Dias obtained his PhD in Chemical Engineering at the Universidade do Porto (Faculdade de Engenharia) in 1996. He also concluded the graduation in Chemical Engineering at the Universidade do Porto (Faculdade de Engenharia) in 1990. He is Coordinator Professor at the Department of Chemical and Biological Technology of the School of Technology and Management (ESTIG) of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB). He is involved in research activities in the Chemical Engineering area with special emphasis in polymer reaction engineering. Modelling of polymerization systems and the synthesis/characterization of polymers, as well as, their applications in separation processes and purification, transport phenomena, molecular recognition, biotechnology, environment and harvesting/storage of energy are topics considered in his research activities.
