Luanna Maia holds a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Aveiro, Portugal, and is currently a PhD candidate in Chemical Engineering at the same institution. Her doctoral research focuses on the recycling of multilayer plastic packaging waste using green solvents and supercritical fluids, contributing to innovative and sustainable solutions for plastic waste valorization within circular economy strategies. In 2023, she contributed to the NEXTRA project at CICECO – Aveiro Institute of Materials (University of Aveiro), where she worked on the aging and characterization of transformer insulating oils. In 2024, she joined the H2Driven project at LEPABE – Laboratory for Process Engineering, Environment, Biotechnology and Energy (Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto), broadening her research scope toward energy transition and decarbonization pathways. Throughout her academic and research career, Luanna has developed solid expertise in materials characterization and analytical techniques, including DSC, HPLC-UV, GC-PDD-FID, and Karl Fischer titration, as well as process simulation tools such as Aspen Plus and MATLAB. She has presented her work at scientific conferences, reflecting her active engagement with the scientific community. Her research interests focus on green separation technologies, sustainable polymer recovery, and the reconfiguration of chemical processes toward low-carbon and climate-neutral systems.
