Sofia Oliveira

Sofia Oliveira is graduated in Human Biology by the University of Évora and Master in Biochemistry by the Faculty of Sciences of University of Porto (FCUP) and by the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS-UP). She concluded the master's degree in 2021, after presenting the dissertation entitled "Angiogenesis in Adrenocortical Tumors", carried out in the anatomy department of ICBAS-UP and in the Unit for Multidisciplinary Research of Biomedical Sciences (UMIB), under the supervision of Professor Sofia Pereira and co-supervision of Professor Mariana Monteiro and Professor Duarte Pignatelli. She was awarded with the basic research prize with the work "ANG-TIE pathway role in adrenocortical tumors angiogenesis" presented in a national congress. She is currently a PhD student in Biomedical Sciences at ICBAS-UP, UMIB, Institute for Research and Innovation in Health (i3S), and Centro Hospitalar Universitário do São João (CHUSJ) under the project "Tumor molecular profiling and non-invasive liquid biopsy to fine-tune adrenocortical carcinoma diagnosis and prognosis". Her main scientific interest is the search of molecular markers for adrenocortical tumors diagnosis and prognosis.
