Inês Vilarinho currently holds a postdoctoral fellow position at the Department of Materials and Ceramic Engineering and CICECO-Aveiro Institute of Materials at University of Aveiro (UA). She got a Master of Science degree in Chemical/Process engineering, Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, Portugal in 2010. Her Industrial PhD in Refining, Petrochemical and Chemical/Process Engineering was obtained from the University of Coimbra, Portugal in 2019 in joint collaboration with Bondalti Chemicals. Since 2019, she has been an active researcher at UA, participated in 7 projects all involving industrial partnerships (6 national and 1 international) - some still on going. So far she published 15 scientific papers in SCI journals -1 editor's choice (h-index=7, >132), 1 book chapter, 8 technical articles, > 70 oral and poster presentations, 19 outreach activities for scientific and general society, 58invited talks and 3 newsletters, being 2 newsletters invited by Young Ceramists Network (YCN) and European Ceramic Society (ECerS). She received 8 prizes and/or honours including 2nd best oral and poster at Jornadas CICECO (2021) and recognition as the most active YCN representative (2023). She was guest editor in the Processes Journal, supervised/mentored 32 national and int. students (5 PhD, 17 MSc and 10 BSc). Her influence extends to her students that were awarded with best pitch at Industrial Project discipline (1st place in 2021, 2nd place in 2024), 1 JECS trust mobility grant - 3 month placement at University of Sheffield, UK (2023), 1 PhD studentship from FCT (2024) and 1 best master's thesis in Materials Engineering (Order of Engineers Award, 2024). She is the responsible of SustainLab and was member of the department of Materials and Ceramics Engineering council (2021-2023). Vilarinho started teaching activities in 2021, lectured in 5 curricular units (such as Materials and Sustainable Development, Materials and Technologies) and was jury member of 2 MSc thesis. She had been jury member of Industrial Project course since 2022 and attended Pedagogical welcoming program for new professors (2023). Inês Vilarinho was a member of the organization committee of 8 national and international conferences being the president of the 3rd YCN workshop 2023. Inês Vilarinho's R&D interests embrace sustainable development and circular economy, always considering the environmental impact of the processes/products. Her research focuses on the innovation and development of novel processes and materials that effectively address industrial challenges in an resource-efficient, economic and dynamic way.
