Rita Almeida Filipe

Rita Almeida Filipe. Works in the area(s) of Humanities with an emphasis on Arts with an emphasis on Architecture and Design. Born in Lisbon, Portugal. Graduated in Equipment Design from the Escola Superior de Belas-Artes de Lisboa in 1991. Master's degree in Product Design from FAUL with the theme Transposition of Traditional Objects to Contemporary Times in 2007, under the guidance of Prof. Anthropologist José António Fernandes Dias and arguments from Prof. Anthropologist Filomena Silvano. PhD in Product Design from FAUL with the theme Vista Alegre, Transposing the Form and Prolonging the Use in 2016, under the guidance of Prof. Architect Fernando Moreira da Silva and arguments from Prof. Designer Francisco Providência. She has worked as a designer since 1991, in the areas of Product Design, Furniture, Interiors and Urban Furniture. Guest assistant at the Design Department of the Faculty of Architecture at UTL in 1996/2016 and in the Postgraduate course in Urban Design at the Portuguese Design Center in 1999/2000. Assistant Professor in the Department of Design at FAUL since 2016. Collaborator of the President of INATEL for the areas of Furniture, Interiors and Hospitality in 1997/2000. Author and responsible for the Design edition of the magazine "Arquitectura e Vida" in 2000/2006. Awarded with several 1st Prizes in national competitions, especially for urban furniture. Participation in several design exhibitions in Portugal and abroad, namely Lisbon, Porto, Barcelona, ¿¿Berlin, Frankfurt, London, Paris, Madrid, Milan, Senegal and San Francisco. Her work is reptresented at Lisbon Design Museum.
