Patrícia Silva completou o doutoramento em Física pela Universidade do Minho em 2022. Durante o doutoramento desenvolveu processos de microfabricação e biofuncionalização para produzir um imunosensor à base de transístores de efeito de campo de grafeno com porta líquida. Iniciou o seu trabalho no CeNTI em março de 2023 como investigadora na área de materiais inteligentes. Neste centro participa em múltiplos projetos de I&D no desenvolvimento de soluções de sensorização impressa (sensores de temperatura, humidade e fluxo) e de displays transparentes (dispositivos eletrocrómicos). Possui também experiência em processos de sala limpa (microfabricação), técnicas de caraterização de superfícies e de desenvolvimento de biossensores.
