Rui Vilarinho, PhD in Physics since 2019, is an experimentalist performing fundamental research on the evolution of the structural distortions and lattice dynamics on orthorhombic perovskites, correlating them with the underlying mechanisms of their interesting multiferroic and magnetoelectric properties, particularly under extreme conditions of temperature, magnetic field and hydrostatic pressure.
