A.M.R.F. Pinto, graduated in Chemical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto (FEUP), is a Full Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, since 2022, Aggregation awarded in 2015, Director of the Doctoral Program in Engineering Chemical and Biological (PDEQB) since January 2010. Since 1997, A.M.R.F. Pinto is a member of the Transport Phenomena Research Center (CEFT) presently the vice Scientific Coordinator and the Head of the Energy Group. After her PhD in 1991 on Coal Combustion, oriented activities for the Transport Phenomena area with particular interest in Mass Transfer and Characterization of two-phase flow patterns using advanced optical techniques. More recently (in the past fifteen years), integrated the know how acquired with other skills of her core formation in Chemical Engineering, in Energy applications in particular in the Fuel Cell area, namely the Direct Methanol and Ethanol Fuel Cells (modelling and experimental studies), Microbial Fuel Cells, PEM Fuel Cells /Electrolysers and Hydrogen Generators and Storage (Chemical Hydrides) systems. A.M.R.F. Pinto has published more than 100 scientific articles in international journals, indexed to Scopus (70% in the last 10 years), receiving more than 3100 citations (H-index of 32), published two books and more than 10 book chapters. Principal Investigator in 12 national projects and member of the team in 14 (2 with industry partners). Involved in two European projects as Local Responsible. She was member of European Network FCTESTNET (Fuel Cell Testing and standardisation Network) and is member of CYTED - Red HIDRÓGENO: "Producción y Usos en el Transporte e Y el Sector Elétrico" - H2TRANSEL. Invited regularly to be an expert evaluator of Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europa Projects.
