Irina Almeida Duarte, completed her Master degree in Marine Ecology in 2016 and her PhD in Biology, speciality in Physiology and Biochemistry in March 2023, at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. IAD is currently Principal Investigator of a national project, and participated as research fellow and team member in other 5 national projects. IAD research interests focus on marine and estuarine environmental contamination, ecotoxicological responses of organisms to contamination, occurrence of pharmaceuticals and other emerging contaminants and their impacts in the environment and human health. IAD has published 25 articles in international peer-reviewed journals since 2017 (h-index 11, 359 citations), participated in 7 international scientific conferences with 12 posters and oral communications, participated in various science outreach events and received 2 awards: Best Oral Communication in CICTA 2018 conference and Young Scientist of the Year 2022 award by Fluviário de Mora.
