Mário Gouveia Moniz holds a degree in Musicology from Universidade NOVA de Lisboa – Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas, complemented by a postgraduate qualification in Educational Training for Music Teaching. Further enhancing his academic journey, he obtained a master’s degree in Cultural Practices for Municipalities from the same esteemed institution. In tandem with his academic pursuits, he actively participated in the first immersive training project of the Companhia de Música Teatral (Grande Bichofonia) and, also in Dabo Domo, a part of the GermInArte Project supported by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. In S. Miguel-Azores, Mário enriched his artistic repertoire by contributing as a pianist and musical director in numerous theatrical productions. Notably, he is the creator of innovative performances for children like "Projeto Música Bebé!"; "Du-Dé-Du"; and "Crescer com Música," designed to foster musical expression among newborns and young children through specialized music workshops and activities. In 2019, Mário further expanded his expertise by completing the first level of the Early Childhood Music Professional Development Course at The Gordon Institute of Music Learning, Temple University, Philadelphia, PA. As a founding member of Musiquim - Associação Musicoteatral dos Açores, Mário Gouveia Moniz has played a key role in spearheading various artistic and educational projects for children, having already collaborated with renowned institutions such as the Companhia de Música Teatral. His creative activities have culminated in the presentation of numerous musical performances such as Música Bebé I, II, III; Caixinhas; Musiquim - ACAC; O Sonho do Miguel; Impromptu; +MARe; Em.pa.ti.a; and Ratibum: o planeta dos ENTes. Currently, Mário Gouveia Moniz is a Ph.D. candidate in Musicology at Universidade NOVA de Lisboa – Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas, specializing in Music Teaching and Music Psychology.
