Clarisse Brígido is a Researcher in Mediterranean Institute for Agriculture, Environment and Development (MED) at the University of Évora (Evora, Portugal). C Brígido is graduated in Biotechnological engineering at Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (Bragança, Portugal), in 2003, and completed her PhD in Biology at University of Évora awarded with honors (cum laude) in 2012. C Brígido was awarded with a PhD Studentship in 2006 by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) to conduct her PhD work focused on the study of the molecular bases of chickpea mesorhizobia tolerance to acid and salt stress. Afterwards, she was awarded with a 6-years Post-doctoral fellowship by FCT in 2014, to study the plant growth promoting mechanisms employed by beneficial microbes, with the aim to develop new effective strategies in protecting plants grown under abiotic stresses. In 2020, she was awarded by FCT with a contract for Auxiliary Researcher (CEECIND/00093/2018) in the frame of the Individual Call to Scientific Employment Stimulus by FCT. C Brígido was a visiting researcher at University of Salamanca, Spain (as PhD student) and University of Waterloo, Canada (as Post-doc), totaling 8 months. During her career, C Brígido participated, as fellow or researcher, in 9 scientific projects (1 as Principal Investigator (PI)) from national and international funding within competitive calls, and in other 5 scientific exploratory projects (1 as PI) from internal institutional funds (UE-MED/ICAAM). C Brígido is author/co-author of 22 peer-reviewed papers and 6 book chapters (1 in press) and 1 edited book with international circulation within different scientific areas, namely agrarian sciences, microbial ecology, applied microbiology and biotechnology. Supervised 2 extern PhD students (1 from Tunisia for 6 months and 1 from Spain for 3 months), 3 MSc and 12 BSc Theses, 2 Post-doctoral and 3 Master fellowships. C Brígido participated in national and international meetings accounting for 20 oral and 28 poster communications, 1 dissemination journal and participated in the Organization of Scientific Meetings and Training Actions and in other outreach activities. C Brígido belonged as jury member of national and international academic degrees (PhD, MSc, BSc) and on evaluation of R&D projects grants (South Africa). She has High activity as reviewer for several international peer-reviewed journals and is Guest editor of the Special Issue "Microbial Biotechnology for Environmental Remediation and Restoration" and "Novel agroecological strategies based on beneficial microbes". C Brígido was also involved in scientific and mentoring activities for the development of national and European patents (2 patents submitted). C. Brígido is a multidisciplinary researcher, with high experience in molecular biology techniques, next generation sequencing, biotechnology, microbiology, confocal microscopy and plant growth trials, allowing to study plant-microbe interactions in depth. H-index = 17 (GScholar), 15 (Scopus/WOS).
