Guilherme Borges Pires holds a BA in History (2013) and an MA in Egyptology (2015) from FCSH/NOVA. He is currently a PhD candidate researching the concepts of ‘Creator deity’ and ‘Creation’ in the hymns of the New Kingdom. In 2017, he was awarded an FCT (Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia) PhD scholarship, having attended seminars and continued his research at the EPHE (École Pratique des Hautes Études, Paris, France) in 2016 and 2017. He volunteered at the EES (Egypt Exploration Society, London, UK) between 2020 and 2023. He is a Researcher at CHAM – Centre for the Humanities (FCSH, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, Universidade dos Açores) and a member of the RES Antiquitatis. Journal of Ancient History editorial team. Since 2022, he has been a lecturer of the online Egyptological programs at the Universidad de Alcalá (Spain). He is a member of the Mastaba of Akhmerunisut Documentation Project (MAD-P), and co-founder and co-host of the podcast Três Egiptólogues Entram num Bar.
