Sónia Maria Gomes Batista, completed the European PhD in Animal Science - specialization in Animal Nutrition in 2016 by the University of Porto at the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS-UP). Holds a Master's Degree in Animal Production completed in 2004 by the University of Lisbon at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and a Degree in Agricultural Engineering - Zootecnhical, completed in 2000 by the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança at the Higher Agricultural School (ESAB - IPB) and Bachelor in Technical Engineering of Animal Production concluded in 1998 also at ESAB-IPB. Currently, she is R&D Project Manager in SEA EIGHT Company and Invited Associated Professor in CESPU - Advanced Polytechnic and University Cooperative, CRL and in ESA-IPVC. Affiliated Researcher in CISAS - Center for Research and Development in Agrifood Systems and Sustainability (IPVC). She worked on the last years as a contracted Researcher in IPVC, under the NUTRIR project and in ICBAS-UP, under the ALGAVALOR project. After Phd completion she developed scientific activity as a Fellow Postdoctoral Researcher, during several years in CIIMAR - Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research (UP), under several projects, but more directly involved on MOBFOOD and MARINALGAE4aqua projects. She has an interdisciplinary and international background with a good record of academic achievements being her main research interest, the animal nutrition and welfare, with particular focus on fish models and the promotion of sustainable animal and agri-food research. Has 20 publications in specialized journals. Has 1 registered patent (National and International, WO/2019/171293). Organized 4 events. Participated in 37 events. Supervised 2 MSc dissertation and 6 LSc/BSc. Received 1 award. Her works is mainly in the areas of Natural Sciences with emphasis in Biological and Veterinary Sciences as well in the Agrarian and Agri-food Sciences. During her professional activities, interacted with 168 collaborators in co-authorship of scientific papers.
