Sandra G. Silva (SGS) got her Chemistry degree in 2006 and her M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry in 2008, at Faculty of Science of University of Porto (FCUP). SGS obtained the PhD degree in Organic and Physical Chemistry (FCUP) in 2014. Her PhD work was devoted to the design, synthesis and physicochemical characterization of amino acid-based surfactants. From 2015 to 2016 SGS was Post-Doc researcher at 3B¿s Research group (UM), working on the functionalization of biopolymers. Since 2016 SGS is a researcher at LAQV-REQUIMTE. In 2018, SGS was awarded a 6-year contract grant funded by FCT (Junior Researcher) to work on a project that aims at the development of nanosystems (using amino acid-based surfactants) for the treatment of infectious diseases.
