Catarina Bettencourt is a licensed psychologist and collaborative member of the Neuropsychological Assessment and Intervention (NAI) group at the Center for Research in Neuropsychology and Cognitive and Behavioural Intervention (CINEICC) at the University of Coimbra, Portugal, where she has been contributing since 2020. Catarina is also an Invited Professor at Universidade Europeia (Lisbon). Catarina is affiliated with the Laboratory of Chronopsychology and Cognitive Systems (ChronCog), the Portuguese Society of Neuropsychology (SPNPsy), and the Portuguese Sleep Association (APS). Catarina is pursuing a PhD in Neuropsychology at the University of Coimbra (FPCE-UC), funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). Her research focuses on the influence of time of day and chronotype on cognitive performance in youth. This work forms a key part of the TRUE TIMES Project [PTDC/PSI-ESP/32581/2017; CENTRO-01-0145-FEDER-032581], where she previously worked as a research assistant (2019–2021). Catarina holds a MSc in Clinical and Health Psychology, specializing in Clinical Geropsychology (2018). She was co-responsible for the neuropsychological assessment component of the Horizon 2020-funded RECOGNISED Project [n. 847749] conducted at the Association for Biomedical Research and Innovation in Light and Image (AIBILI), a multicenter international study on retinal and cognitive dysfunction in type 2 diabetes. The project involved collaboration with 15 institutions and three transversal organizations: EATRIS, IDF Europe, and Alzheimer Europe. Additionally, she co-led the neuropsychological assessment component of the project “Neurofeedback in Autism and Schizophrenia: Executive Functions Self-Regulation by fMRI in Real-Time,” funded by the FCT and conducted at the Coimbra Institute for Biomedical Imaging and Translational Research (CIBIT). Catarina has collaborated with various research groups and published as both a first author and co-author in peer-reviewed international journals. Her primary areas of interest include chronopsychology, the influence of circadian factors on cognition, sleep psychology, and neuropsychological assessment.
