Pedro Franco Farinha is a team member of the research group "Advanced Technologies for Drug Delivery" at the Research Institute for Medicines (iMed.ULisboa), Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lisbon. He attended the University of Lisbon (Lisboa, Portugal) and graduated with a master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2021. During his studies he acquired an interest in nanomedicine and advanced drug delivery systems and has published 2 papers in the field (both as 1st author). His laboratory experience allowed him to acquire knowledge on various areas of the field, particularly dynamic light scattering, zeta potential, spectrophotometry, HPLC, flow cytometry and cell culture maintenance and handling techniques. Currently, Pedro has been awarded an research grant and is working on the development of lipid and polymer-based nanosystems for the delivery of pharmacologically active compounds (metal-based complexes) against cancer.
