Bárbara Magalhães

Bárbara Magalhães born in Porto, in 1984, she is an Associate Professor, PhD, Master and Degree in Law. University professor since 2009, initially hired as an Assistant, currently holding the rank of Associate Professor. She is Coordinator of the 2nd Cycle of Studies in Law at Universidade Portucalense Infante D. Henrique since 2017. She teaches Curricular Units related to Administrative Law, Urban Planning and Environmental Law at the School of Law of the University of Minho. She also taught the Curricular Unit of Environmental Law and Urbanism within the scope of the Master's in Municipal Management at the Instituto Politécnico do Cávado e do Ave (IPCA). She participates in research projects in the area of Legal Science, in Portugal and abroad, namely as a member of the Process research group at IJP Instituto Juridico Portucalense. The research she carries out focuses on the area of Administrative Law, especially administrative arbitration. She is the author of a Master's dissertation and a PhD thesis, for which she gave public examinations in Portugal. The first was developed at the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra, under the guidance of Professor José Faria Costa, and the PhD thesis was developed at the Universidade Portucalense Infante D. Henrique, under the guidance of Professor João Pacheco de Amorim. In addition to the publication of this scientific production, it also promoted the dissemination of scientific knowledge, through the publication of some articles in national and foreign peer-reviewed journals. In addition to her dissertations, she published some articles in national and foreign peer-reviewed journals. She is also the author of several opinions, some of which have been published. She was a member of several juries of the oral exams for access to the CEJ Entrance to the Judicial Courts. She also serves as an arbitrator within the scope of the Administrative Arbitration Center (CAAD). She also served as a jury member within the scope of the Competition Procedure for senior technician (jurist) for the Municipal Council of Viana de Castelo. She also performs the role of expert in legal proceedings.
