Bruno Guimarães (BG) is a researcher in the FCT project BEAUTY: Big gEnome wide Applications for an ecotoxicology soil model - a knowledge base to Unravel mechanisms (nanopesTY_cides), at the Centre for Environmental and Marine Studies (CESAM), University of Aveiro. BG recently worked as a postdoc researcher in the European projects NanoinformaTIX - Development and Implementation of a Sustainable Modelling Platform for NanoInformatics and BIORIMA-Risk assessment of Biomaterials, and has been involved in several national and international projects over the past years. BG collaborates with experienced and multidisciplinary international research groups, establishing cooperation relationships with several organizations. BG graduated in Biology at University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro in 2007 and his master was developed at the same university in Clinic Laboratorial Biology in 2009. In 2014, BG obtained a grant to develop his PhD, being the 4th national best candidate in the Environmental Sciences panel, which he concluded in 2018. BG developed an advanced training at ECT Oekotoxikologie (Germany), an institution led by one of the most recognized specialists in soil Ecotoxicology, Dr. Jörg Römbke. In the last 5 years, BG published an average of 2 papers per year in journals ranking in the top 10% of the correspondent subject area (average IF: 5.959), attended and presented communications in international relevant conferences (e.g. SETAC, NanoTox). Furthermore, during his career, he supervised/mentored several students/research fellows (BsC, MsC and PhD). BG participated in academic juries and is a reviewer of relevant international journals (average IF: 4.253). Outreach activities and dissemination of knowledge for the promotion of scientific practices, such as coordination/monitoring of summer activities and open days, and the development and presentation of tutorials are also important activities of BG scientific path.
