I'm a psychology researcher and professor with a strong focus on food psychology and its contribution to healthier and more sustainable practices. My research work has been dedicated to understanding how sensory, affective, and individual factors shape food perception, preferences, and choice, with particular attention to the role of multisensory cues in promoting the acceptance of healthier and more sustainable food products. I teach courses in Psychology (ISPA - Instituto Universitário and Iscte - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa) and serve as a supervisor for master's and doctoral students, as well as a mentor to undergraduate students from various institutions. These teaching activities have also included invited lectures at national and international universities. I’m actively involved in science communication and public outreach, regularly collaborating with media outlets, engaging in initiatives aimed at diverse audiences, and contributing to community development through associative work. Professional recognitions include the Iscte Alumni ECSH Breakthrough Award (2026) and the Junior Psychologist National Award by the Portuguese Psychologists’ Association (2018).
