Inês Silva has been a master grant researcher in the BioMark sensor research group at the University of Coimbra (Coimbra, Portugal). Her work was part of the OligoFIT project (OLIGOFIT/ERA-Net, with the reference: JPCOFUND2/0001/2019) and aimed to produce biosensors to detect biomarkers associated with neurodegenerative diseases, namely Parkinson´s disease. She completed the Integrated Master´s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, with a specialization in Clinical Engineering, in 2020, at the University of Minho (Braga, Portugal). She was an Erasmus student at KU Leuven (Flanders, Belgium), where she developed her master´s thesis project. She has been awarded 1 Erasmus fellowship, 1 research grant and 1 travel award, and she was also selected to give a poster presentation at the Synuclein meeting 2022. She has 2 conference posters as first author, 1 published original research paper, 1 review paper as first co-author whose review proposal was accepted by Trends in Analytical Chemistry in December 2021, 1 original research paper as first author under preparation to be submitted to Biosensors and Bioelectronics, and 1 book chapter as first co-author with the deadline submission of May 2022 to be published by Elsevier. Her research interests include the application of engineer and technology, mostly biosensors and biomaterials, to biomedical research, such as cancer, immunology, neuroscience, and microbiology research fields.
