I hold a BA in International Development with Overseas Experience for the University of East Anglia. In 2018, I was awarded a PhD in Development Studies from the Lisbon School of Economics and Management from the University of Lisbon. Throughout my career I was involved in various research projects with a focus on social policy, in particular social protection. Three are of particular relevance: - MOPACT: this project was financed by the European Commission and focused on demonstrating scientifically that Europe should face the new longevity paradigm as a resource for economic and social development. - DYNAPOR: this project was financed by the Francisco Manuel dos Santos Foundation and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and consisted of the development of a Dynamic Microsimulation Model to assess public policy and the sustainability of the pension system in Portugal. - MIGAPE: this project seeks to identify the factors that influence women¿s¿ decision in the labour market, which in turn has a marked impact on their pension entitlement. This project employs a multidisciplinary approach that uses standard simulations and Dynamic Microsimlation to expand our knowledge regarding the gender inequalities in pensions and their relation to labour market. Recently I started working a collaborative laboratory that makes the bridge between the academic research and its application to a real context. Here I participated in various projects working together with various stakeholders (national and international) to design and implement applied research initiatives in the area of social protection. Currently I am coordinating the Social Protection line at CoLABOR that includes a team of 5 auxiliary and assistant researchers.
