Rachel Cordeiro is a research fellow at the Centre for Rapid and Sustainable Product Development (CDRSP-PLeiria) since 2019. She is attending a PhD in Biomedical Sciences since the present year (2022) at Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar (ICBAS). She completed her Master's in Chemistry, Quality Control and Environment, in 2019 by the Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Coimbra (FCTUC). She has a degree in Biotechnology (2016) from the Escola Superior Agrária de Coimbra (ESAC) of the Polytechnic of Coimbra. Her research focuses on Tissue Engineering more specifically in the regeneration of cartilaginous tissue through temporary implants produced by Additive Manufacturing techniques. He participated in the project PAMI (project nº22158 SAICT- AAC nº01/SAICT/2016), 2bio4cartilage (POCI-01-0145-FEDER-023423) and SafeBiotrash.Disposal (POCI-01-02B7-FEDER-069612), under COVID-19 projects. At the moment he is part of the Bio-discus project (CENTRO-01-0247-FEDER-039969) with aims to develop a temporary implant for the temporomandibular joint disc. Published 3 papers in journal, 1patent, 2 conference poster and 1 book chapter.
