I completed my Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Algarve – Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in July 2023. I have recently finished my Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences, with a focus on Disease Mechanisms, at the same institution in November 2025. I achieved the maximum grade (20/20) on my master's thesis, entitled “Zebrafish as a model to study the role of ERAP1 deficiency in ankylosing spondylitis”. I am currently working as a Research Fellow at the Centre of Marine Sciences. My main research interest lies in human immunology and autoimmune diseases, particularly Ankylosing Spondylitis, and I use zebrafish as a model organism due to its genetic similarity to humans and its suitability for in vivo studies.
